We asked Mrs. Koeppen some questions and here are her answers
1. What makes you unique? I am physically unable to smell.
2. What should a student expect in your class? Students should expect to work hard, but they will also have fun learning.
3. What unusual things happen in your class? I give out all assignments on Monday for the entire week. I feel this helps students and parents plan their week.
4. Your teaching career and personal highlights – what other places have you taught at, what have you accomplished in life?
1999-2003 I taught at Northside Middle School in West Columbia, SC. During this time, I taught language arts and social studies at the 6th through 8th grade levels. I also served as head volleyball coach. At night, I taught English to non-native speakers, as well as, worked with adults trying to earn their GED.
During the summer of 2003, I married my husband, Mark, and moved to Greenwood, SC.
2003-2207 I taught 7th grade Language Arts at Ware Shoals Junior / Senior High School. I also served as English Department Head, peer evaluator, SACS coordinator, and Varsity and JV head volleyball coach.
I graduated in 1999 from the College of Charleston with a BS degree in Elementary Education with a middle emphasis. In December of 2006, I graduated from Clemson University with a Masters degree in Administration.
